DanceUP is operated by THELDC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the DanceUP Studio platform — including our website, dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us and information generated through your use of the Service:
- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register.
- Studio information: Studio name, location, class descriptions, pricing, and availability that you provide when setting up your studio profile.
- Payment and billing information: Billing details for your DanceUP Studio subscription are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe Connect information is collected to facilitate payouts to your studio.
- Student data: Information about your enrolled students — including names, emails, attendance records, and credit balances — managed within the platform on your behalf.
- Usage data: Dashboard activity, feature usage, timestamps, device type, browser, and IP address — collected automatically.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your studio account and dashboard.
- Process subscription payments and facilitate Stripe Connect payouts.
- Enable you to manage students, classes, events, and packages.
- Send account notifications, billing receipts, and service-related communications.
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
- Improve and develop the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information or your students' data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We work with trusted third-party providers who may process your data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase & Google Cloud: Authentication, data storage, cloud functions, and hosting infrastructure. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe, Inc.: Subscription billing, saved payment methods, and Stripe Connect payouts. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
5. Student Data
As a studio owner, you act as a data controller for the student information you enter and manage within the platform. You are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from your students to store and process their data. THELDC acts as a data processor on your behalf and handles student data only as directed by your use of the platform.
6. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your account and studio data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you request account deletion:
- 90-day pending window: Your account enters a 90-day pending deletion period. Your account remains accessible during this time and you may cancel the deletion request at any point from the Billing & Account settings.
- Personal and studio data deletion: After the 90-day window expires, your profile, studio content, class listings, student records, and all personally identifiable data are permanently deleted.
- Financial record retention: Transaction and billing records (amounts, dates) are anonymized and retained for 7 years as required by applicable tax and financial regulations. All personally identifiable fields are removed from these records at the time of deletion.
- Subscription: Your active subscription is cancelled at the end of the current billing period when a deletion request is submitted. No new charges will occur after that point.
- Data export: Before deleting your account, you may download a complete copy of your studio data from the Billing & Account page. We strongly recommend exporting your data before the deletion window expires.
You may request deletion of your account at any time from the Billing & Account section in the DanceUP Studio dashboard or app (see Section 7).
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Export a copy of all your studio data from the Billing & Account page at any time.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to the 90-day pending window and legal retention requirements described in Section 6.
- Cancel a pending account deletion at any time within the 90-day window from the Billing & Account settings.
- Opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

8. Children's Privacy
The DanceUP Studio Service is intended for use by adults (18+) operating dance studios and teaching businesses. If your studio enrolls minors, you are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent before entering their data into the platform.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or via an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
